    The paper describes a framework for public key watermarking and presents experimental results. Our scheme is based on wavelet transform and due to this reason could be included as a part of JPEG2000 or other wavelet based image compression standard. Our investigation is concentrated on finding the most reliable methods to include them into the proposed public key watermarking system.

    The new embedding method of annotations into raster images is presented in the article. The method combines the principles of watermarking and steganography. Using the method proposed it is possible to attach the information to the raster image and bind it to a specified object or region of the image. The JPEG2000 raster images coding standard is used as base to realize the embedding and extracting scheme of image data. The proposed scheme targeted to mobile environments and evaluate their limits. The article reviewes the existing methods of embedding for metadata and annotations; the principles of information embedding and extracting for JPEG2000 images. The main requirements for annotation scheme are defined. Embedding principles and logical structures are analyzed. These requirements are practically adopted for the new method of annotations embedding into the raster image, evaluating the JPEG2000 requirements. The scheme is tested practically and the results of these experiments are presented.

  1. Application of public key infrastructure in digital Watermarking at University of Rostock (Donnerstag, dem 10.06.2004, 15:00 Uhr; Institut für Informatik; Raum 311)

    The use of public key infrastructures in watermarking, as the key element for verification of sender’s identity and a place of storing and retrieval of watermark detection keys will be presented. The re-use of existing key verification and exchange infrastructures provides watermarking with cryptologically strong and verified asymmetric keys.

    We will present the watermarking system for authentication purposes, based on existing public key infrastructure. Proposed scheme combines fragile properties of DWT-based watermarking schemes and ability to verify identity of the sender as well as the integrity of transmitted data. The watermarking scheme has been developed to incorporate directly into JPEG2000 image coding stream, while it can be adopted to any existing image coding standard.

  2. Embedding data into raster images at University of Rostock (Donnerstag, dem 10.06.2004, 16:00 Uhr; Institut für Informatik; Raum 311 )

    Embedding of additional, non-graphical information, can convert raster image into a small database. This would allow to create more elaborated methods of information presentation, like less obscured maps on mobile devices or embedding of information about particular objects, depicted in the scene.

    We will present the traditional methods of data suppression and filtering, used with vector data; the principles and ways of embedding additional information into raster images, especially concerning the use JPEG2000 image compression standard and the ways the embedded information can be used.
